Yet ANOTHER article regarding Fresno's problem with DBCP, a pesticide that was banned in 1977. More money being poured into so-called "research."

Fresno is known as the "asthma capital of the valley." Where 1 in 6 school children now carry inhalers. Where raw sewage is being discharged behind secret replacement of the city water system without permits, inspections, safety precautions. Where the pesticide DBCP continues to escalate. Where money continues being poured into so-called "investigations" as to what could be causing these problems.

First of all, what are the unknown pesticides being used for the eradication of sewer roaches, sewer rats and mosquito infestations? DBCP was banned in 1977. It has a short life span yet continues to escalate in Fresno. I can't help but suspect that this is what I saw in WGS's storage facilities ~ gallons upon gallons of chemicals. At the time I did not question him, because I was totally unaware of his "secret sideline." For now, some information regarding DBCP in Fresno, CA.

Cockroach allergens can increase asthma attacks in children much more than// allergens from dust mites or pets.

The research, funded by National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences, US, said that incidence of allergens from cockroaches in homes may however be specific to certain areas of the cities.

The researchers had exposed children suffering from asthma to cockroach allergens and found out that there seems to be a significant increase in the frequency of number of days they suffered from coughs, wheezing spells with tightening of chests, nights of interrupted sleep, missed school days and disrupted play activities.

Cockroach allergens can come from several sources such as sewage, saliva, and exposed food particles or dead animals. Keeping the house clean, mopping the floors regularly, cleaning out garbage on a daily basis can keep the cockroach allergens under control at home. Other measures to control allergens from the roaches can be eating only in the dining or kitchen areas, keeping all the food items covered in airtight containers, repairing leaking faucets etc.
